The Pickens County Board of Elections & Registration, will conduct a General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., for the purpose of electing the following:
(A) The office of City Councilmember of the City of Jasper, Georgia, being Post 1, which will be elected at large for a term of four (4) years beginning on or about January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2029, with the incumbent being Dr. Folsom “Sonny” Proctor.
(B) The office of City Councilmember of the City of Jasper, Georgia, being Post 2, which will be elected at large for a term of four (4) years beginning on or about January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2029, with the incumbent being Anne Sneve.
The qualifying period, to qualify for the above offices, shall open on Monday, August 18, 2025, and will continue for three days through Wednesday, August 20, 2025. The hours of qualifying each day shall be from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
The qualifying fee for each Council seat shall be $90.00. Prospective candidates may qualify at the administrative office of the Pickens County Board of Elections located at 3100 Camp Road, Suite B, Jasper, Georgia 30143. All qualified candidates are encouraged to run.
Advance voting for the election shall begin on Monday, October 14, 2025, and continue until Friday, October 31, 2025, including two Saturday voting days October 18th, 2025 and October 25, 2025. Election Day, November 4, 2025, registered voters from the City of Jasper will vote at their assigned precinct location: Jasper Municipal Court Room, 55 G.G. Lovell Street, Jasper GA 30143.

Pickens County will be conducting a Risk Limiting Audit of the November 5th, 2024, General Election. The Pickens County Board of Elections & Registration hereby provides public notice of the County Election Superintendent’s intent to begin the absentee ballot tabulation process prior to the close of the polls on November 5, 2024. Pursuant to Official Code of Georgia Annotated § 21-2-386(a)(3), the Pickens County Election’s Office shall start the tabulation process for absentee ballots beginning no earlier than 6:00 pm on Election Day, Tuesday November 5, 2024 at 3100 Camp Road, Suite B, Jasper GA 30143 in order to expediate the final tabulation of absentee ballots. Monitors may view the tabulation process as authorized by O.C.G.A. § 21-2-386(a)(3). In addition, all persons conducting the tabulation of absentee ballots on November 5, 2024, including the Vote Review Panel, shall be sequestered until the time for the closing of the polls. For additional information, contact the Pickens County Board of Elections & Registration Office at (706)253-8781.
Important Note: Georgia Law provides that all observers and monitors of the opening and tabulation process must be sequestered to the Tabulation Center until 7:00 pm (poll closing time). During the sequestration, monitors and observers will be prohibited from any contact with the news media; contact with other persons not involved in monitoring and observing or conducting the tabulation. In addition, monitors and observes shall not use any type of communication device, including radios, telephones, and cellular telephones; shall not utilize computers for the purpose of email, instant messaging, or other forms of communication; and shall not communicate any information concerning the tabulation until the time for closing the polls at 7 pm.

Notice is hereby given that on October 7th, 2024, a logic and accuracy test of the Dominion Voting System will be held at the Pickens County Board of Elections and Registration office located at 3100 Camp Road, Suite B, Jasper, Georgia 30143, commencing at 10 am and continuing until all units have been tested and prepared for the November 5, 2024, General Election.
This testing shall remain open to the public to observe, and members of the public are entitled to be present during the preparation and testing of the Dominion units.

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that on the 5th day of November 2024, an election will be held in all of the precincts of Pickens County. At the election there will be submitted to the qualified voters of Pickens County for their determination the question of whether or not a special 1 percent Single County Transportation Special Purpose Local Options Sales and Use Tax shall be imposed in the special district of Pickens County for a term not to exceed five years and for the purpose of raising an estimated amount of $50,000,000 to fund the hereinafter described capital outlay projects.
Voters desiring to vote for the one percent sales and use tax shall do so by voting "YES" and voters desiring to vote against such sales and use tax shall do so by voting "NO" to the following question propounded on the election ballot:
"( ) YES
( ) NO Shall a special I percent sales and use tax be imposed in the special district
consisting of Pickens County for a period of time not to exceed five (5) years
and for the raising of an estimated amount of $50,000,000 in revenue for
the purposes of County and City road improvement projects consisting of
road paving, patching, resurfacing, widening, and improvements to
intersections, crosswalks, and road drainage throughout Pickens County.
The several places for holding the election shall be in the regular and established precincts of Pickens County and at the times fixed by law. Those qualified to vote at the election shall be determined in all respects in accordance and in conformity with the Constitution and statutes of the United States of America and of the State of Georgia.
This notice is given pursuant to joint action of the Board of Commissioners of Pickens County and the Superintendent of Elections of Pickens County.
