Pickens County will be conducting a Risk Limiting Audit of the June 16, 2026 Primary Election. This audit will take place on Thursday June 25, 2026 at the Pickens County Board of Elections & Registration, 3100 Camp Road, Suite B, Jasper, GA 30143.
The audit will begin at 1:00 pm and continue until it is complete. Inquires should be directed to Pickens County Election Supervisor, Stacey Godfrey, at sagodfrey@pickenscountyga.gov.
Notice is hereby given that at the direction of the Secretary of State pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-495, the Pickens County Board of Elections and Registration has scheduled a recount proceeding for the Republican Public Service Commission (PSC) District 3 race. This race was part of the Republican Party General Primary Election which occurred on following certification of the May 19, 2026. The recount is being conducted in all Georgia Counties. Testing for the recount followed immediately by the recount will begin on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. and will continue each day until completed, but no later than Friday, June 26, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. The recount will take place at the Pickens County Board of Elections and Registration Office, 3100 Camp Road, Suite B, Jasper Georgia 30143.
Pursuant to Georgia law, the affected political party may designate two representatives to be present during the recount, and each affected candidate may be present in person or by representative. The recount proceeding shall be open to the public; however, members of the public will be required to remain within designated viewing areas and comply with all instructions necessary to maintain the orderly conduct of the recount.
The recount is being conducted upon formal receipt of a written recount request from candidate Branson Martin following certification of the election results because the margin of victory was less than one half of one present. The recount will be conducted in accordance with Georgia election law and applicable State Election Board rules and regulations.
The Pickens County Board of Elections and Registration will hold a special meeting on Monday June 22, 2026 at 5:00 pm at 3100 Camp Road, Suite B, Jasper GA 30143 (Board of Elections & Registration Office) to certify the June 16th, 2026 Primary Runoff Election. All interested persons are encouraged to attend.
The Pickens County Board of Elections and Registration will hold a special meeting on Thursday June 18, 2026 at 2:00 pm at 3100 Camp Road, Suite B, Jasper GA 30143 (Board of Elections & Registration Office) to pre-certify the June 16, 2026 Primary Runoff Election. All interested persons are encouraged to attend.

The Pickens County Board of Elections & Registration hereby provides public notice of the County Election Superintendent’s intent to begin opening absentee ballots prior to the close of the polls on June 16, 2026. Pursuant to Official Code of Georgia Annotated § 21-2-386(a)(2)(A), the Pickens County Election’s Office intends to start opening and processing absentee ballots beginning no earlier than 6:00 pm on June 16, 2026. The opening and processing of absentee ballots will take place at the Pickens County Board of Elections & Registration Office, 3100 Camp Road, Suite B, Jasper GA 30143. Important Note: Georgia Law provides that all observers and monitors of the opening and tabulation process must be sequestered to the Tabulation Center until 7:00 pm (poll closing time). During the sequestration, monitors and observers will be prohibited from any contact with the news media; contact with other persons not involved in monitoring and observing or conducting the tabulation. In addition, monitors and observes shall not use any type of communication device, including radios, telephones, and cellular telephones; shall not utilize computers for the purpose of email, instant messaging, or other forms of communication; and shall not communicate any information concerning the tabulation until the time for closing the polls at 7 pm.
The Pickens County Board of Voter Registrations & Elections will hold a public meeting to conduct the computation and canvassing of the June 16, 2026 General Primary Runoff on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., to continue day to day until completed, in the Voter Registrations & Elections Office, 3100 Camp Road, Suite B, Jasper GA 30143.
The purpose of the meeting will be for discussion and consideration of the items as outlined in the agenda below and such other business as may properly come before the Board. All interested persons are encouraged to attend.

Notice is hereby given that on April 14th, 2026 a logic and accuracy test of the Dominion Voting System will be held at the Pickens County Board of Elections and Registration office located at 3100 Camp Road, Suite B, Jasper, Georgia 30143, commencing at 10 am and continuing until all units have been tested and prepared for the May 19th, 2026 Primary Election.
This testing shall remain open to the public to observe, and members of the public are entitled to be present during the preparation and testing of the Dominion units.

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-265, The Pickens County Board of Elections and Registration hereby gives notice to the voters of Pickens County that it is considering the following permanent polling place changes:
1. Change Appalachian Precinct polling location to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1036 North Main Street, Jasper GA 30143.
2. Change Hill City Precinct polling location to Woodstock Church of Jasper, 5335 Highway 53 West, Jasper GA 30143.
3. Change the Refuge Precinct polling location to First Christian Church of Jasper, 22 Burgess Road West, Jasper GA 30143.
After considering any objections, a final vote on the proposed polling location changes will be held on March 3rd, 2026 at 6 pm at the Pickens County Administration Building, located at 1266 East Church Street, Jasper, GA 30143.
