
The General Primary will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with voting at your precinct from 7AM-7PM.
Advance voting for the election shall begin on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, and continue until Friday, October 30, 2026, including two Saturday voting days October 17 & 24, 2026, at the Pickens County Recreation Department.

Notice is hereby given that Pickens County, Georgia will hold a Special Referendum Election on the November 3, 2026, for the purpose of voting on the question of whether or not the governing authority of Pickens County, Georgia shall be permitted to issue licenses for the package sale of distilled spirits within the unincorporated limits of Pickens County.
The ballot shall read as follows:
Yes or No | "Shall the issuance of licenses for the package sale of distilled spirits within the unincorporated limits of Pickens County?"
Those desiring to vote in favor of the issuance of licenses shall vote "Yes" Those desiring to vote against issuance of licenses shall vote "No",
Only those voters registered to vote in Pickens County, Georgia shall be allowed to vote in the Special Referendum Election.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall notify the Board of Elections and Registration for Pickens County, Georgia through the Elections Superintendent of the special referendum election by forwarding a copy of this Resolution thereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon receipt of this Resolution, the Elections
Superintendent shall issue the call and shall conduct the election in the manner prescribed in O.C.G.A. § 21-2-540.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the registration books to register voter to vote in the special referendum election are to be held open until the 5th day of October 2026.
SO RESOLVED AND ADOPTED ON this 18th day of May 2026.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on November 3, 2026 an election will be held at the regular polling places in all the election districts of Pickens County, Georgia, at which time there will be submitted to the qualified voters of Pickens County for their determination the question of whether to increase the income cap on the current full homestead exemption that certain senior citizens and disabled persons receive from Pickens County School District ad valorem taxes for education purposes from $25,000.00 to $40,000.00.
The ballots to be used at such election shall have written or printed thereon substantially the following:
Yes or No | Shall the Act be approved which increases the income cap on the current full homestead exemption that certain senior citizens and disabled persons receive from Pickens County School District ad valorem taxes for education purposes from $25,000.00 to $40,000.00
The several places for holding said election shall be at the regular and established voting precincts of the election districts of Pickens County, Georgia, and the polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the date fixed for the election.
The last day to register to vote in this election shall be October 5, 2026, through 5:00 p.m.
All residents of Pickens County qualified to vote at such election shall be determined in all respects in accordance with the election laws of the State of Georgia.
This notice is given pursuant to Act 590, HB 1551 signed into law by the Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia on May 11, 2026, requiring a local referendum.
